Almond Poppy Seed Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups flour all purpose
  • 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ½ cup oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. Create a well in the dry ingredients.
  4. Add the remaining ingredients to the flour.
  5. Whisk toegether until just combined.
  6. Pour into a greased loaf pan (see note).
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.

Notes

  • I use a standard size loaf pan, about 9×4 inches. If you want to use smaller loaf pans, you'll need to use two of them.
