Ingredients

Mushroom Sauce
  • 250 gms button mushrooms sliced, 8.8 oz
  • 1 garlic halved, clove
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 60 ml white wine ¼ cup
  • 1 tbsp parsley chopped
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
Buns
  • 50 ml milk warm, 3 tbsp
  • 7 gms active dry yeast 1 tbsp
  • 2 ½ tbsp sugar
  • 2 egg 1 for the dough and 1 for brushing the buns’ tops
  • 420 gms flour 3 cups
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 35 gms butter softened, 2 ½ tbsp
  • 240 ml water lukewarm, 1 cup
  • carom seeds optional
Beef Patties
  • 500 gms ground beef 1.1 lbs
  • 3/4 cup parmigiano reggiano thinly grated
  • 3/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 pinch nutmeg grated
  • salt
  • black pepper
To Assemble
  • beef patties
  • mushroom sauce
  • Buns
  • fontina cheese or fontal cheese, sliced
  • Italian Speck sliced
  • arugula also known as rocket
  • tomato sliced
  • butter to cook patties
  • salt

Notes

  • The above ingredients for the buns will make about 15 slider sized buns. You can easily freeze the extra buns by putting them into a Ziploc bag and have them ready for more sliders!
