American Cole Slaw

This classic American Cole Slaw comes together quickly and easily with a few simple ingredients and a tangy homemade dressing for a dish that is perfect for cookouts and potlucks.

Ingredients

  • ⅓ cup mayonnaise
  • 4 Tablespoons white vinegar
  • ½ Tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 16 oz bag cole slaw
  • 1 bunch green onions

Instructions

  1. Use a cutting board and knife to slice the green onions.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper.
  3. Add the cole slaw mix and green onions to the bowl.
  4. Give everything a good stir. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes and up to 6 hours prior to serving.

Notes

  • Hint: Refrigerating the cole slaw prior to serving isn't essential, but it allows the flavors to meld and the dressing to break down the cabbage a bit.
