Ingredients

  • 6 cups apples peeled, cored, and sliced (about 3 large apples)
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter cold and cubed

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Toss the sliced apples with lemon juice and arrange them in the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix together flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture and use a pastry blender or your fingers to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Sprinkle the crumb mixture evenly over the apples in the baking dish.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are bubbly and tender.
