Ingredients

  • 5 carrots (peeled)
  • 2 apples (cored)
  • water

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Place a steamer basket in a large sauce pot and pour in just enough water to see through the basket.
  2. Bring the water to a boil by placing a lid on the pot.
  3. Cut carrots into about 1 inch chunks.
  4. Once water has come to a boil, remove lid and add apples and carrots.
  5. Cover and let steam until tender (about 20 minutes or so.)
  6. Place tender carrots and apples into a food processor or blender and puree until smooth. Add water until you’ve reached your desired consistency. (I added about 1 cup.)
  7. To freeze: place puree in ice cube trays.
  8. Once frozen, remove from tray and place cubes into a zip lock bag to store.
