Apple Carrot Salad – Mrkvový salát
This is a simple and quick sweet salad made from raw shredded carrots and apples, mixed with lemon juice, sugar, and raisins for added flavor. In Czech, it's called mrkvový salát.

Ingredients
- 2 medium carrots
- 1 large apple
- 2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 Tablespoon raisins optional
- 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
Instructions
- Peel 2 medium carrots. Then peel 1 large apple, halve it and remove the core.
- Finely shred the carrots and apple using a hand grater with small holes.
- Squeeze 2 Tablespoons lemon juice over and sprinkle with 2 Tablespoons granulated sugar. If you like, throw 1 Tablespoon raisins in a bowl.
- Stir to combine and serve.

- The basic recipe makes 2 portions.
- This salad can be enjoyed as a sweet snack or dessert.
- For an extra touch, drizzle a little honey on top.
- I used a box grater to grate the apples and carrots. Be patient, as hand grating takes a bit of time and effort.
