Ingredients

  • 1 brick (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup powdered or icing sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tubes crescent rolls
  • 1 can (21 oz) apple pie filling
For the glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon whole milk

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Get out and measure all of your ingredients.
  2. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  3. In a medium-sized bowl, add cream cheese.
  4. Whip the cream cheese until smooth with an electric hand mixer.
  5. Add the powdered sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon to the bowl.
  6. Mix until combined, set aside.
  7. Lay a large piece of parchment paper on a clean work surface. Place a small bowl (4-inches in diameter or similar) or ramekin in the center. Lay the crescent roll triangles in a starburst shape around the bowl with the points sticking out.
  8. They will overlap each other.
  9. Smooth out ⅔ of the cream cheese mixture around the center of the starburst in a circle.
  10. Add the apple pie filling right on top.
  11. Dollop the remaining cream cheese mixture on top and gently smooth it out.
  12. Take the triangles and wrap them over the filling and tuck the ends underneath the center of the ring.
  13. Drag the ring onto a large sheet tray so it can lay flat. I have used a pizza pan or a flat sheet tray for this.
  14. Bake for 18-25 minutes until golden brown. Let cool completely on the tray.
  15. While it is cooling, make the glaze by adding the powdered sugar and milk into a small bowl.
  16. Whisk until smooth.
  17. Remove crescent ring from pan.
  18. Drizzle the glaze on top of the crescent ring, I like to use a fork for this.
  19. Drizzle until decorated.
  20. Slice into wedges.
  21. Serve and enjoy every bite!

Notes

  • This can be served warm, room temperature, or cold. If you want to skip the glaze, you can serve it with whipped cream or ice cream on top!

  • Use your favorite apple pie filling recipe in place of the store-bought canned filling.
  • The cinnamon in the cream cheese mixture really compliments the apples.
  • This would also be wonderful with added pecans which would also be a nice textural element to the soft ingredients.
