Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 2/3 cup whole milk
  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 large apple peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • Confectioners' sugar for dusting optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. In a blender, pulse together eggs, milk, flour, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until smooth. Set aside.
  2. In a 12-inch oven-safe skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add sliced apples and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Pour the batter over the apples in the skillet. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  4. Carefully remove the skillet from the oven. Dust with confectioners' sugar if desired. Slice and serve warm.
