Ingredients

  • 2½ cups oats quick-cooking
  • ¼ cup light brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup applesauce unsweetened
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 egg large
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract pure
  • ½ cup apple peeled and grated, Granny Smith

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease an 8” square baking pan with nonstick spray or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, stir together oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together milk, applesauce, oil, egg, and vanilla.
  4. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients, then mix until combined. Fold shredded apple into the batter.
  5. Transfer batter to prepared pan and bake for 25-28 minutes, or until golden brown and set in the center.
  6. Remove bars to a cutting board and cool completely before slicing.
