This cinnamon-apple and oatmeal bars recipe with hints of vanilla is baked to golden perfection for a sweet breakfast bite.

Ingredients
- 2½ cups oats quick-cooking
- ¼ cup light brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup applesauce unsweetened
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
- 1 egg large
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract pure
- ½ cup apple peeled and grated, Granny Smith
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease an 8” square baking pan with nonstick spray or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, stir together oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together milk, applesauce, oil, egg, and vanilla.
- Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients, then mix until combined. Fold shredded apple into the batter.
- Transfer batter to prepared pan and bake for 25-28 minutes, or until golden brown and set in the center.
- Remove bars to a cutting board and cool completely before slicing.
