Asian Glazed Baked Chicken Wings

These lightened chicken wings are baked until crispy then brushed with a sweet fragrant sesame-ginger Asian glaze. The perfect appetizer recipe for entertaining.

Ingredients

Wings
  • 2 pounds chicken wings or drummers
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
Asian Glaze
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Nakano Natural Rice Vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon chili paste (optional)
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil

  1. Pre-heat oven to 425 and line a baking sheet with foil.
  2. Place chicken wings in a large bowl and pat dry with a paper towel. Toss to coat with oil, salt, and pepper then place in a single layer on a prepared baking sheet. Bake chicken wings until golden brown and crispy, about 25-30 minutes.
  3. While the chicken is baking, prepare the glaze: In a small pot over high heat combine the hoisin, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, sambal oelek, and sesame oil. Bring up to a simmer then lower the heat. Heat on low until wings are done cooking. 
  4. Remove wings from the oven and brush with glaze on both sides. Sprinkle with scallions to serve.
