Asian Grilled Flank Steak

Grilled flank steak marinated in a bold Asian-inspired mixture of soy sauce, ginger, garlic, sriracha, and fish sauce to add a tasty boost of flavor.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 3 cloves minced garlic 
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 juiced lime
  • 2 pounds flank steak
  • cilantro, green onions, and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized bowl whisk together the ½ cup soy sauce, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 2 tablespoons sesame oil, ¼ cup brown sugar, 3 cloves minced garlic, 1 teaspoon ground ginger, and lime juice of 1 juiced lime.
  2. Add 2 pounds flank steak to a large resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the steak, cover, and refrigerate for 30 minutes or longer.
  3. Preheat the grill over high heat, between 400 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Once the grill reaches the recommended temperature, place the steak on the grill and close the lid. Cook the steak until charred, about 4 minutes.
  4. Flip over and cook covered until desired doneness is reached, about 2 to 4 minutes. For medium rare (120 to 125 degrees Fahrenheit) or 130 to medium 135 degrees Fahrenheit (50 to 57 degrees Celsius) internal temperature.
  5. Transfer steak to a cutting board and tent with foil for 10 minutes before slicing. Slice the grilled flank steak against the grain.
  6. Top the steak with chopped cilantro, green onions, and sesame seeds for garnish .
