Ingredients

  • 1 medium -sized ripe avocado , peeled and stoned
  • 100 g bittersweet chocolate such as Ghirardelli , melted and cooled

  1. Place the chopped chocolate or chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 15-second bursts, stirring between each interval, and watch carefully to avoid burning. When the chocolate is almost completely melted, remove it from the microwave and stir until smooth. Set aside and let it cool until it's just barely warm.
  2. Halve and pit the avocado, then scoop them into a food processor fitted with a steel blade or a high-powered blender.
  3. Add the melted chocolate to the food processor or blender. Blend until the mixture is very smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  4. Spoon the mousse into 2 small glasses and place them in the fridge for at least an hour.
  5. Serve the mousse topped with chocolate shavings.
