Awesome Bacon Wrapped Brussels Sprouts

Awesome Bacon Wrapped Brussels Sprouts are beautifully wrapped Brussel sprouts in strips of bacon then brushed with a maple, brown sugar glaze and baked until golden brown. This is one MUST make appetizer this holiday season!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • salt to taste
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 pound bacon cut in half
  • ½ cup real maple syrup
  • 3 tablespoons packed brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil and set aside.
  2. Trim the stem ends of 1 pound Brussels sprouts and add them to a medium bowl. Toss them with 1 tablespoon olive oil, and salt and ground black pepper to taste.
  3. Wrap each Brussels sprout with a half slice of the 1 pound bacon cut in half and secure with a toothpick. Lay them onto the baking sheet so they don't touch.
  4. In a small bowl whisk together ½ cup real maple syrup and 3 tablespoons packed brown sugar. Use a pastry brush to brush this over the tops of the Brussels sprouts.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes tossing them halfway through until the bacon is crisp and Brussels sprouts are tender. Remove immediately from the baking sheet and place them on a serving dish. Serve warm.
