Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup butter unsalted, grated
  • 10 lices Bacon fried and chopped
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • ½ onion chopped
  • 1½ cups cheddar cheese shredded

  1. Preheat oven to 350℉.
  2. Fry the bacon then the onion. Chop up the bacon in small pieces.
  3. In a large bowl mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the butter and gently mix it in with the flour.
  4. In a small bowl mix the milk, egg, and vegetable oil then add the wet ingredients into the flour mixture.
  5. Add the bacon, onion, and cheddar to the mixture and combine everything but don't over-mix.
  6. Roll out the dough so that it's about ¾ of an inch in thickness and using a 2" cookie cutter, cut it into biscuits. Bake for 25 min.
  7. This recipe yields 12 biscuits.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, consider adding in some diced jalapeños or a pinch of cayenne.
  • These biscuits are best consumed fresh, but they can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
  • Reheat leftover biscuits in the oven at 300℉ for about 5 minutes to maintain their crispy exterior.
