Bacon Cheddar Popcorn

Ingredients

  • 2 trips Bacon
  • ⅓ cup popcorn kernels
  • 3 ounces cheddar cheese, grated

Instructions

  1. Preheat the broiler of your oven with a rack about 4 to 6 inches away.
  2. Cook the bacon in a cast iron pan on the stove or in the oven on a broiler pan until crisp. Blot with paper towels and then chop finely. Reserve the bacon fat in a jar.
  3. Use 2 teaspoons of bacon fat to pop the popcorn in a small saucepan on the stove top or whatever way you prefer to pop popcorn.
  4. Mix the cooked popcorn, bacon, and half of the cheese in a bowl and then spread out in a thin layer in a 9 by 13 inch broiler-safe oven dish. Top with the remaining cheese.
  5. Broil 2 to 3 minutes until the cheese has melted. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • You could double the amount of add ins without impacting the overall crunch of this bacon cheddar popcorn.
