Ingredients
- 2 lices Bacon
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 2 lices whole-wheat bread
- 2 large eggs
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 lices American cheese
- hot sauce optional
Instructions
- Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 5 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
- Butter each slice of bread and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to low and crack the eggs into the pan. Scramble gently, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- When the eggs are almost set, place the slices of cheese on top and allow them to melt.
- Place one slice of bread, buttered-side down, on a plate. Top with scrambled eggs, optional hot sauce, crispy bacon, and the second slice of bread buttered-side up. Press gently to adhere.
- Carefully cook each side of the sandwich in the skillet until golden brown. Serve immediately.
