Bacon Leek Quiche

Ingredients

  • 1 leek
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tbsp Creme Fraiche
  • 1 cup milk
  • 100 gr Bacon
  • 1 short crust pastry
  • 2 tbsp Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 tsp grated nutmeg
  • ½ glass white wine
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Dice the bacon.
  2. Cook the bacon in a non-stick skillet over medium heat until crispy.
  3. Clean the leeks and slice them into strips.
  4. Cook the sliced leeks in the same pan used for the bacon.
  5. Deglaze with half a glass of white wine.
  6. Let the wine evaporate and cook the leeks until they become soft.
  7. Let the bacon and leeks cool.
  8. Break the whole eggs into a large bowl.
  9. Whisk the eggs with a whisk.
  10. Add the milk and creme fraiche.
  11. Add salt, pepper, and freshly grated nutmeg.
  12. Add the bacon and leeks.
  13. In an 8-inch quiche pan, press the shortcrust pastry firmly.
  14. Make small holes with a fork in the shortcrust pastry.
  15. Pour the mixture into the quiche pan.
  16. Ensure that the entire mixture is evenly distributed.
  17. Grate a generous amount of Parmesan cheese on top to create a beautiful crust.
  18. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C/375°F for 45 minutes.
  19. Serve hot. Enjoy!
