Bacon Wrapped Asparagus

This classic and elegant appetizer is so quick and easy to make and is an excellent addition to any holiday platter. Full of texture and flavor, it's a must have for any party.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb thin bacon slices
  • 1 lb asparagus woody ends trimmed and washed
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place a rack on it.
  2. Season asparagus with salt and pepper. Wrap 3-4 asparagus stalks with a piece of bacon in a bundle. Repeat with remaining asparagus.
  3. Place asparagus bundles on the rack in the baking sheet, and bake in the preheated oven for 15 - 17 minutes, until bacon is crisp.

Notes

  • This recipe is delicious as it is, but if you like, you can drizzle over some maple syrup or brown sugar before baking for a sweet and salty bite.
  • Use thin bacon for this recipe otherwise, the bacon will not be cooked through and crispy when the asparagus is ready.
  • Ensure that your asparagus is fresh. It should be firm to the touch with smooth skin.
  • Bake in a fully preheated oven so that the asparagus cooks through evenly.
