Bacon Wrapped Little Smokie Jalapeno Poppers
Bacon Wrapped Little Smokie Jalapeno Poppers combine smoky little smokies with creamy cheese filling inside jalapeño halves, all wrapped in crispy baked bacon. The jalapeños deliver moderate heat balanced by the cheese mixture with cheddar and cream cheese, enhanced by chipotle powder's smoky spice. Baking melds flavors and crisps the bacon, making these poppers ideal for appetizers or party snacks that offer spicy, creamy, and savory layers.
Ingredients
- 25 jalapeños washed, sliced in half and seeds removed
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 4 ounces cheddar cheese shredded
- 1/2 teaspoon chipotle powder
- 12 ounces Bacon cut in half
- 16 ounces little smokies
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Wash and cut the jalapenos in half. Scoop out seeds and pith if you desire a less spicy popper.
- In a small bowl, mix together the cream cheese and cheddar cheese. Stir in chipotle powder.
- Fill each jalapeno half with about 1 to 2 teaspoons of the cheese mixture.
- Place 1 smokie in each jalapeno.
- Wrap jalapeno with a half slice of bacon.
- Bake for about 25 to 30 minutes or until the bacon is fully cooked and the pepper is tender.
Notes
- Grilling the poppers is a flavorful alternative to baking, giving a smoky char to the bacon and jalapeño.
