Bacon Wrapped Smokies with Brown Sugar

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces Bacon regular thickness
  • 14 ounces lil smokies one package
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • Toothpicks

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut each strip of bacon into three equal pieces.
  3. Wrap each lil smoke with the cut bacon thirds and secure it with a toothpick to keep it in place.
  4. Place the wrapped wieners on the lined baking sheet.
  5. Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over top of them.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, checking at 20 minutes to be sure the bacon isn’t getting too crispy.

Notes

  • Use any variety of lil smokies you'd like.  Turkey, beef, or even the cheese filled.
  • Brush with maple syrup instead of using brown sugar if you'd like
  • Add a sprinkle of cayenne pepper or chili powder to the brown sugar for a sweet and spicy combo.
  • Add a sprinkle of garlic powder, paprika, dried rosemary or thyme.
