For the Donuts

  • 2 cups flour all-purpose
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon cloves
  • ½ cup sugar
  • cup brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ¾ cup apple cider
  • 1 cup apples diced

For the Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons apple cider

Instructions

For the Donuts

  1. Preheat the oven to 350ºF.
  2. Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and cloves. Set aside.
  3. Cream together the white and brown sugar and the butter.
  4. Add the eggs and beat until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  5. Add the vanilla and sour cream, mix until combined.
  6. Add half of the dry ingredient mixture and mix until just combined.
  7. Add half of the apple cider and mix until just combined.
  8. Add the rest of the dry ingredient mixture. Mix until just combined.
  9. Add the rest of the apple cider. Mix until just combined.
  10. Fold in the apples gently until evenly mixed through.
  11. Divide batter evenly into donut pans, it will fill 12-18.
  12. Bake for 15 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.

For the Glaze

  1. Combine the powdered sugar and apple cider until smooth.
  2. Drizzle over the donuts.
