Notes

  • What type of kale to choose: Curly kale is the best for making homemade chips. Its hearty leaves and curly edges make for a nice, crisp chip. Make sure to wash and thoroughly dry the kale leaves before starting the recipe.
  • Crispy chips: It's important to evenly coat the kale leaves with oil and any flavorings. Also, make sure to bake them in a single layer. This allows the hot air to circulate around the leaves, ensuring they bake evenly and become nice and crispy.
  • Making chips ahead of time: You can easily make the chips ahead of time. If you store them in an airtight container at room temperature, they will stay crispy and fresh for up to a week.
  • Storing: After enjoying your batch of crispy kale chips, you might have some leftovers. No worries! Place the remaining chips in an airtight container. They can be stored at room temperature for up to one week.
  • Freezing: Unfortunately, it's not recommended to freeze your baked kale chips. Freezing can cause the chips to lose their crisp texture and fresh flavor.
