Baked Oatmeal
Baked Oatmeal combines oats with brown sugar, applesauce, and milk to create a warm, tender dish. The beaten eggs help bind the mixture, giving it a firm but moist texture once baked. Vanilla and baking powder add subtle flavor and lightness, making it suitable for breakfast or a snack. It bakes quickly in a 9X13-inch pan and can be served with additional milk or fresh fruit for a wholesome start to the day.
Ingredients
- 6 cups oatmeal either quick or old-fashioned
- 1 ½ cups brown sugar
- ½ cup neutral cooking oil generic cooking oil
- ½ cup applesauce
- 2 cups milk
- 4 large egg beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 2 teaspoons salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients together and pour into a greased 9X13-inch baking pan.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Serve with milk and/or fresh fruit.
Notes
- The recipe can be halved and baked in an 8X8-inch pan without changing baking times significantly.
