Ingredients

Brownies:
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter , melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
Banana Bread Layer:
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ripe bananas , mashed
  • 1/2 cup walnuts , chopped
  • 1 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

Brownie Layer:
    Cup of Yum
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Spray an 9x13 inch baking pan with baking spray and line with parchment paper with extra hanging out over the edge (to help lift the brownies out later).
  3. Whisk together melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Spread batter evenly into baking pan.
Banana Bread Layer:
  1. In a large bowl whisk together the sugar, oil, egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  2. Add bananas and half of the walnuts.
  3. Add flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.
  4. Add to the baking pan in spoonfuls.
  5. Swirl gently with a butter knife.
  6. Sprinkle the rest of the walnuts on top.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until toothpick poked in center of the baking pan comes out clean.
