Banana Bread French Toast

Ingredients

  • 8 slices banana bread
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 Tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract and cinnamon in a mixing bowl.
  2. Slice the banana bread into approximately 1 inch thick slices and lay the slices in a 9X13 baking dish.
  3. Pour the egg mixture on top of the bread.  Let the bread sit for 1-2 minutes.  You may have to work in batches depending on the sizes of the banana bread and pan.
  4. Preheat a griddle over medium heat to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (or use a large skillet).  Grease the griddle or pan with the butter.
  5. Then place the coated banana bread slices on the griddle and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown on both sides. Work in batches if needed.
  6. Serve warm topped with syrup and fresh bananas.  Enjoy!

Notes

  • Refrigerate the leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
