Basic Chili Recipe

Delicious chili packed with ground beef, beans, and lots of spice!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion diced (about 3/4 cup)
  • 1 can 28 oz diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 can 15 oz kidney beans, drained
  • 1 can 15 oz black beans, drained
  • 1 can 8 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 Tablespoons chili powder
  • ½ Tablespoon Cajun Seasoning
  • 1 Tablespoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large nonstick sauce pan, over medium heat, brown ground beef with onions. Cook until the beef is no longer pink.
  2. Add in the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, tomato sauce, water, and seasonings (chili powder, cajun seasoning, salt and pepper). Stir to combine well. 
  3. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, covered, for at least 20 minutes. Stir occasionally to avoid sticking.
