Basil Vinaigrette
This Basil Vinaigrette blends fresh basil leaves with garlic, shallot, lemon juice, and white balsamic vinegar, emulsified with olive oil and seasoned with salt and pepper. The dressing offers a herby, bright flavor perfect for salads or as a finishing sauce. It blends aromatic herbs with acidity and oil for a balanced vinaigrette.
Ingredients
- 2 cups basil packed leaves
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 2 tablespoons shallot minced
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice fresh
- 2 tablespoons white balsamic vinegar or red wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- black pepper to taste, freshly ground
Instructions
- Place the basil, garlic, shallot, lemon juice, vinegar, salt, olive oil, and pepper in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth. Taste and season with additional salt and pepper, if necessary. Serve!
- Note-vinaigrette will keep in a jar or container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
