Basil Vinaigrette
Description
The Basil Vinaigrette combines packed fresh basil leaves with minced garlic and shallot to create a fragrant base. Lemon juice and white balsamic vinegar add acidity and brightness, while olive oil balances the sharpness with smoothness. Salt and freshly ground pepper season the dressing to taste. Blending these ingredients until smooth results in a vibrant green vinaigrette that enhances salads and dishes needing a fresh herb kick.
The texture is smooth and pourable, suitable for drizzling over greens or vegetables. The lemon juice and vinegar provide a mild tang to complement the sweet herbaceous notes of basil. The inclusion of shallot adds a subtle onion flavor without overpowering the dressing.
This vinaigrette can be whisked into salads directly or used as a marinate or drizzle for grilled vegetables or cooked proteins. It is a versatile sauce that brings fresh herb flavor to various dishes and can be stored refrigerated for several days.
