Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce low-sodium
  • 1/2 cup water warm
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger grated, fresh
  • 1 pound flank steak thinly sliced
  • 5 1/2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, water, brown sugar, cornstarch, garlic, and ginger. Add the thinly sliced beef and toss to coat. Let marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Steam broccoli florets until tender-crisp, about 4-5 minutes. Set aside.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add marinated beef and cook until browned and nearly cooked through, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the steamed broccoli and the remaining marinade. Cook, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and broccoli, about 2-3 minutes. Sprinkle with sesame seeds for garnish.
