Beef Chow Fun
An easy to make and easier to enjoy homemade variation of a Cantonese classic.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces flank steak thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce low-sodium
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 8 ounces wide rice noodles cooked according to package instructions
- 1 onion sliced, medium
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 cup bean sprout rinsed
- 2 green onions cut into 2-inch pieces
Instructions
- Marinate the beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and baking soda for 15 minutes.
- In a wok or large pan, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat and stir-fry the beef until browned. Remove beef and set aside.
- In the same wok, add the remaining oil, onions, and garlic, and sauté until fragrant. Add the cooked noodles and dark soy sauce, stir-frying until the noodles are heated through.
- Return the beef to the wok, add oyster sauce, and mix well. Stir in the bean sprouts and green onions, cooking for an additional 2 minutes.
