Ingredients
For the Beef and Vegetables:
- 2 pounds round steak (cut into 1/4 inch strip)
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 red bell pepper (thinly sliced)
- 2 medium carrots (peeled and thinly sliced)
- 1 cup broccoli (chopped into small pieces)
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 2 Tablespoons sesame seeds
- 3 green onions (sliced)
For the Stir Fry Sauce:
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 Tablespoon cornstarch
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together the stir fry sauce ingredients. Then set aside.
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add the steak. Sauté the steak for 3-5 minutes until browned and cooked through.
- Reduce the heat to medium high heat and add in the veggies (broccoli, bell peppers and carrots). Cook, stirring occasionally, and cook until tender but still crispy.
- Then stir in the ginger and garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until the garlic is aromatic.
- Stir in the stir fry sauce and stir to coat the steak and vegetables with the sauce. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally, and let the mixture boil for 1 minute to thicken the sauce.
- Top with sesame and sliced green onions. Serve as is or over rice. Enjoy!
