Berry Compote

Berry Compote combines fresh or frozen strawberries and raspberries gently cooked with orange juice to create a sweet and slightly tangy sauce. The texture balances softened fruit with some chunks, versatile for toppings or mix-ins. This makes a useful preparation to add fresh berry flavor to breakfast, desserts, or snacks.

Description

Berry Compote uses sliced strawberries and whole raspberries simmered with natural orange juice. As the fruit cooks down and is gently mashed, the mixture softens and thickens into a saucy consistency. The orange juice lends a mild citrus note that brightens the inherent tartness of the berries. Adjusting the sweetness with sugar or substitutes customizes the balance in the final compote.

The resulting blend can be served warm or cold, making it suitable for spooning over pancakes, yogurt, ice cream, or cottage cheese. It can also be used as a filling or swirl in baked goods.
