Ingredients

  • 400 g chickpeas Drained and rinsed
  • 3 tbsp Tahini
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic Minced
  • 4 tbsp olive oil Extra virgin
  • salt To taste
  • 2-3 tbsp water
  • Paprika, Parsley and Olive Oil For serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, minced garlic, extra-virgin olive oil, and salt.
  2. Process the ingredients until smooth, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  3. While the food processor is running, gradually add 2-3 tablespoons of water, until the hummus reaches the desired consistency.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  5. Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl, and smooth the top with the back of a spoon.
  6. (Optional) Drizzle with additional olive oil and sprinkle with paprika or parsley before serving.
  7. Serve with vegetables, pita bread, crackers, or as a dip for your favourite foods.
