  1. Preheat the waffler maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

  3. In a large bowl combine brown sugar, oil, non-dairy milk, and vanilla. Whisk until all the ingredients are fully combined.
  4. Add flour and gently fold in until all lumps are gone.
  5. Pour enough batter to cover the waffle maker plate.
  6. Following the manufacturer's instructions, cook waffles until crisp (about 4 to 6 minutes).
  7. Serve easy homemade waffles with Maple syrup, vegan butter, or jam.

Notes

  • Make sure all your vegan waffle ingredients are at room temperature.
  • If the waffler maker isn’t nonstick, brush it with melted coconut oil, or nonstick cooking spray. I love using Avocado Oil cooking spray.
  • Flour: you can use a different type of flour in this recipe. While the recipe calls for all-purpose flour, you can try using whole wheat flour, spelt flour, or gluten-free flour if desired. Just keep in mind that the texture and taste of the waffles may vary slightly.
  • To refrigerate: Place these easy vegan waffles in a fridge and store them for no more than 2 days. Reheat in a toaster.
  • If you plan to store the homemade waffles longer, then it's best to freeze them.
  • To freeze: First, you need to cool the waffles. Then, arrange them on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze until firm, about two hours. After that, you can place the homemade vegan waffles in a freezer-friendly storage bag.
  • Store waffles in a freezer for about 3 months.
  • To reheat. Reheat these best vegan waffles in a toaster or toaster oven (this is what I use) for about 3 minutes until the waffles crisp back up.
