Instructions
- Preheat the waffler maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- In a small bowl combine flour and baking powder. Whisk until just combined.
- In a large bowl combine brown sugar, oil, non-dairy milk, and vanilla. Whisk until all the ingredients are fully combined.
- Add flour and gently fold in until all lumps are gone.
- Pour enough batter to cover the waffle maker plate.
- Following the manufacturer's instructions, cook waffles until crisp (about 4 to 6 minutes).
- Serve easy homemade waffles with Maple syrup, vegan butter, or jam.
Notes
- Make sure all your vegan waffle ingredients are at room temperature.
- If the waffler maker isn’t nonstick, brush it with melted coconut oil, or nonstick cooking spray. I love using Avocado Oil cooking spray.
- Flour: you can use a different type of flour in this recipe. While the recipe calls for all-purpose flour, you can try using whole wheat flour, spelt flour, or gluten-free flour if desired. Just keep in mind that the texture and taste of the waffles may vary slightly.
- To refrigerate: Place these easy vegan waffles in a fridge and store them for no more than 2 days. Reheat in a toaster.
- If you plan to store the homemade waffles longer, then it's best to freeze them.
- To freeze: First, you need to cool the waffles. Then, arrange them on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze until firm, about two hours. After that, you can place the homemade vegan waffles in a freezer-friendly storage bag.
- Store waffles in a freezer for about 3 months.
- To reheat. Reheat these best vegan waffles in a toaster or toaster oven (this is what I use) for about 3 minutes until the waffles crisp back up.
