Ingredients

  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup orange juice (may add 1 cup)
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 3 to 4 Tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
To Fold-in:
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (for whipping)
  • 1 to 2 apple grated or diced
  • brown sugar

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, add rolled oats, orange juice, milk, honey, yogurt, and vanilla and stir until combined. Cover the bowl or place in a large jar. Place in the refrigerator and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight.
  2. When ready to serve, whip 1/2 cup of heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Fold into the bircher muesli. Fold in grated or diced apples.
  3. Top with a generous amount of brown sugar and fruits, nuts, seeds, or dried fruits. May drizzle with honey.
  4. Store in the refrigerator in covered container for up to 5 days.

Notes

  • Use Fairlife milk or other high-protein milks to boost protein content.
  • Store soaked oats refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 4-5 days; consume earlier for firmer texture.
  • Add nuts like almonds, walnuts, pecans, pistachios, or seeds such as chia or flax for crunch and nutrition.
  • Top with fresh fruits including strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, bananas, apples, peaches, or dried fruits like cranberries and cherries.
  • Sweeten with brown sugar, honey, maple syrup, or agave as preferred.
  • Enhance flavor with spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, or vanilla extract.
  • Optional protein powder or collagen peptides can increase creaminess and protein.
