Ingredients

  • 1 15-ounce can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Tahini
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt plus more to taste
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper optional
  • olive oil for drizzling
  • paprika for garnish

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Combine black beans, minced garlic, tahini, lime juice, olive oil, ground cumin, salt, and optional cayenne pepper in a food processor.
  2. Blend the mixture until it is smooth and creamy, pausing to scrape the sides as necessary. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. If the hummus is overly thick, incorporate a tablespoon of water or olive oil to achieve your preferred consistency.
  3. Transfer the black bean hummus to a serving bowl. Garnish with a drizzle of olive oil or a sprinkle of paprika if desired. Serve with fresh vegetables, pita chips, or whole-grain crackers.
