Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 pint blackberries fresh or frozen
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to medium saucepan.
- Heat to boiling. Stir until sugar dissolves. Reduce heat, simmer 15-30 minutes, until berries are soft.
- Mash berries with potato masher, or crush with spoon.
- Strain solids through fine mesh sieve, or through cheesecloth. Discard solids.
- Refrigerate after cooled.
- Add to recipe, as needed.

- If storing in canning jar, sterilize wet jar in microwave for 1 minute before filling.
- Store refrigerated for up to 6 months.
