Blackberry Simple Syrup

Blackberry Simple Syrup is an easy, delicious way to preserve all of those blackberries you have in the refrigerator! So good used in so many things!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 pint blackberries fresh or frozen

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Add all ingredients to medium saucepan.
  2. Heat to boiling. Stir until sugar dissolves. Reduce heat, simmer 15-30 minutes, until berries are soft.
  3. Mash berries with potato masher, or crush with spoon.
  4. Strain solids through fine mesh sieve, or through cheesecloth. Discard solids.
  5. Refrigerate after cooled.
  6. Add to recipe, as needed.

Notes

  • If storing in canning jar, sterilize wet jar in microwave for 1 minute before filling.
  • Store refrigerated for up to 6 months.
