Blanched Green Beans with Asian Sauce
This recipe serves blanched green beans dressed in a vibrant Asian-style sauce made from soy sauce, white wine vinegar, lemon juice, honey, chili, ginger, garlic, and green onion. The quick blanching preserves the beans' crisp texture, while the sauce adds a balance of tangy, sweet, and spicy notes enhanced by toasted sesame.
Ingredients
Beans:
- 150 g green beans
- 10 ml olive oil
- 1/2 garlic
Sauce:
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp white wine vinegar
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp honey
- 1/2 Chili pepper
- 0,5 cm ginger
- 1/2 garlic
- 1 green onion
Instructions
How to Blanch the Green Beans:
- It's as simply as cooking them for 2-3 minutes in boiling water and then place them in cold or iced water.
For the sauce:
- Finely chop the chili and the green onion, grate the garlic and ginger, then mix all these ingredients with the soy sauce, vinegar, lemon juice, and honey.
- Cook the sesame in a frying pan until they start to brown, removing it from the heat before they burn.
- In a heated pan, add a drizzle of olive oil and fry the crushed garlic for 2-3 seconds. Add the blanched green beans and cook everything together for 1-2 minutes.
