BLT Dip

BLT Dip tastes like everyone's favourite BLT sandwich but in the form of a rich, creamy dip that's perfect for entertaining.

Ingredients

  • 300 g Bacon chopped
  • 225 g cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 3 roma tomatoes seeds removed, diced and drained on paper towel.
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ⅓ cup shredded cos lettuce (romaine lettuce)

Instructions

  1. In a small frypan or skillet, fry the bacon then place on paper towel to drain away the excess fat then set aside to cool (see my notes).
  2. Into a medium bowl add the remaining ingredients (except the lettuce) along with the cooled bacon then stir well to combine.
  3. Add the dip mixture to a serving dish, sprinkle with shredded lettuce and serve.

Notes

  • Removing the seeds and draining the chopped tomato on a paper towel removes excess moisture that will make the dip watery.
  • Spread the cooked bacon on a plate, then place it in the refrigerator or freezer for a few minutes to speed up the cooling process.
