Blueberry Lemon Drop Martini

This refreshing twist on a classic cocktail hails from Fleming's Steakhouse. Their Blueberry Lemon Drop is perfect for summer, but also melts away the winter blues. It takes just a few minutes to muddle and shake up. Cheers!

Ingredients

  • raw sugar for rim
  • 14 blueberries
  • 2 ounces Stoli blueberri vodka or other blueberry vodka–they use Pinnacle at Fleming’s
  • 1 ounce lemon juice
  • 1 ounce simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water, cooked into a syrup and then cooled)

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Rub a lemon wedge over the rim of a martini glass and dip in raw sugar to create a sugar rim. Add 2 blueberries to the glass and set aside.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, muddle 12 remaining blueberries. Add ice, blueberry vodka, lemon juice, and simple syrup; shake and then strain into the martini glass (use a small fine mesh sieve to remove all the blueberry skins and seeds). Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adapted from Fleming's Steakhouse
  • I've made this recipe multiple times with both blueberry vodka and regular vodka on different occasions. Regular vodka will definitely yield a delicious cocktail if that's all you have!
  • Also note that blueberries come in different sizes, and some will yield more color than others when muddled into this drink. If your blueberries aren't really in season, add a few extra to get more blueberry color and flavor into the drink.
