Blueberry Simple Syrup

This blueberry simple syrup comes together quickly and easily with four simple ingredients! Its sweet, fruity flavor makes for a delicious addition to any lemonade, tea, mocktail, or cocktail. You can also drizzle it over some pancakes, waffles, or cheesecake!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup blueberries fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Combine blueberries, sugar, and water in a small saucepan.
  2. Bring to a simmer for around 10 minutes or until the berries have softened, stirring throughout and gently mashing the berries with the back of a wooden spoon, spatula, or masher.
  3. Strain the blueberry syrup so only liquid remains. Add a splash of lemon juice to the simple syrup and stir to combine.
  4. Allow the syrup to cool, and then transfer it to an airtight container and store it in the fridge.

Notes

  • This recipe yields approximately 1½ cups of blueberry syrup.
