Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  2. Allow to simmer for 15 minutes then remove from heat.
  3. Use a potato masher to smash the blueberries and let the mixture sit for an additional 5 minutes.
  4. Use a fine mesh strainer to separate the blueberries from the syrup/juice.
  5. Allow the syrup to cool before transferring to jars or bottles.

Notes

  • Don’t cook on high heat: Make sure that the heat doesn’t get too high as it can burn the sugar.
  • Skip the strainer: Like the chunky blueberry pieces? Don’t strain the syrup!
  • Adjust the sweetness: Taste test the syrup and add more or less sugar based on your personal preference.
