Ingredients

  • 1 Medium Warm Water Lobster alive, see Notes*
  • water
  • ¾ Tablespoon salt
  • 1 Tablespoon vinegar

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Place your live lobster into the freezer for 15-30 minutes to put it to sleep.
  2. Keep a large pot with water, salt and vinegar to boil.
  3. Cut the antenna of your warm water lobster off if they are long. Some varieties don't have long antenna.
  4. Place whole lobster face down into boiling water and cover the pot.
  5. Cook lobster for about 5 minutes. Mine is a medium-sized lobster, if you use a large lobster, add 2-3 minutes to the cooking process. Anything more and the meat will turn out dry.
  6. Take out from the pot when done cooking and take through cold water.
  7. Serve up whole as is or cut small. See post for cutting and cleaning instructions.

Notes

  • Needs to be a live lobster because they need to be fresh only when cooked. Lobster degrade really fast. Warm water lobster are also called spine lobster (see post for other names)
