Bourbon Orange Glazed Ham (Holiday Ham)
This smoked ham is the perfect centerpiece for your holiday feast. The bourbon adds a depth of flavor that is amazing and the sweetness of the marmalade and maple syrup is the perfect match to the succulent ham. For the best ham available, go with a Mangalitsa ham (see NOTES).

Ingredients
- ⅔ cup orange marmalade
- ¼ cup bourbon or dark rum
- 3 tablespoon pure maple syrup
- 3 tablespoon coarse-ground mustard or Dijon
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper ground
- 1 7 to 9 lb half ham bone-in, smoked
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F.
- In a medium bowl, mix the marmalade, Bourbon, maple syrup, mustard, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
- Brush the ham all over with about ½ cup of the glaze. Place the ham in the roasting pan (or on a rimmed baking sheet) and loosely cover the ham with foil. Place the pan on a grate in the lower third of your oven for 90 minutes.
- Remove the ham from the oven and increase the temperature to 425°F. Gently peel the foil away from the roast. Meanwhile, brush on another ½ cup of the glaze over the ham. Return the ham to the oven for about 5 to 8 minutes. Remove the ham again, apply one more liberal layer of the glaze, and roast for another 5 minutes. Keep an eye on the roast, don't let the glaze burn!
- Remove the ham and let rest for 15 to 20 minutes. Place on a platter (or cutting board), slice, and serve at once.
