Breakfast Bake
The Breakfast Bake layers crescent roll dough with turkey sausage, eggs mixed with milk and seasonings, diced green bell pepper, and shredded cheddar cheese. This combination yields a savory, egg-forward casserole with a flaky crust and hearty texture suitable for a morning meal. The flavors balance mild sausage, creamy eggs, and melty cheese.
Ingredients
- 1 can (8 ounces) crescent rolls I use Pillsbury's, refrigerated
- 1 package (9 ounces) sausage I use turkey-sausage, pre-cooked, links
- 5 egg beaten, large
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 Tablespoons green bell pepper diced
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano dried
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. Press the crescent roll dough in the bottom of the pan and 1/2 inch up the sides.
- Slice the sausage into small pieces and then spread evenly over the top of the dough.
- Whisk eggs, milk, green pepper, oregano, salt and pepper together in a medium bowl. Pour evenly over sausage. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese all over the top.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown and eggs are cooked through. Allow to cool 5 minutes before slicing. Serve and enjoy!
