Brown Sugar Boiled Frosting

You don't always have to reach for a can of frosting, you can make your own at home with our recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 2/3 cup miniature marshmallows
  • shredded, sweetened coconut optional topping

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. In a saucepan, combine the sugar, vanilla, and milk, and stir until sugar dissolves.
  2. Place the mixture over medium heat and boil for 4 minutes.
  3. Remove from the heat and add the marshmallows, mixing until dissolved.
  4. Spread the frosting on a cake, cupcakes, or cookies.
  5. Sprinkle coconut over the top if desired.
