Browned Butter Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cup flour
  • 1-1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Heat a pan over medium heat to melt the butter. Stir constantly until the butter foams and turns light brown.
  2. Remove the pan from the burner and let it cool.
  3. Preheat the oven to 350 F.
  4. Once the butter is room temperature combine it with the two sugars and cream until well combined.
  5. Add the egg and vanilla and mix.
  6. Add the flour, baking soda and salt to the mixture and blend until just mixed.
  7. Refrigerate the dough for 1/2 hour to make it easier to shape.
  8. Roll into 1 inch balls and flatten the dough with a drinking glass.
  9. Dip in colored sprinkles.
  10. Place on a parchment paper baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
