Bruschetta al Pomodoro

Bruschetta is a popular Italian antipasto made with garlic-rubbed toast and olive oil. The most popular is the tomato version, bruschetta al pomodoro.

Ingredients

  • 8 slices bread (baguette or equivalent) (½ inch / 1 cm thick)
  • 2 tomatoes (or more), seeded and finely diced
  • 1 clove garlic , peeled
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 6 basil leaves , torn (optional)
  • fleur de sel

Instructions

  1. Toast the bread on both sides on a medium-high heat for about 2 minutes per side.
  2. Rub the garlic on one side of each piece.
  3. Drizzle with oil.
  4. Divide the diced tomatoes equally between each piece of toast.
  5. Sprinkle with basil (optional).
  6. Season with fleur de sel.
